Bankstown Local Area Command is located in Sydney’s south western suburbs – between 13 and 23 kilometres south west of the Sydney GPO. The boundaries of the command are the Prospect water supply pipeline in the north, Roberts Road, Juno Parade, Koala Road, Punchbowl Road, Canterbury Road and the Salt Pan Creek in the east, the Georges River in the south and the Georges River, Prospect Creek, the Hume Highway and Woodville Road in the west.
The Bankstown Central Business District (CBD) is a major commercial centre in the Sydney Metropolitan area with a number of government and business offices located within the CBD.
There are a number of major locations located within the command:
· Bankstown Airport;
· Bankstown Centro Shopping Centre;
· Villawood Immigration Detention Centre;
· University of Western Sydney, Milperra.
